About this section

This is the part of the catalog bought three at a time. Cotton and polyester blends with a little spandex, cut either close and ribbed or deliberately large, in solid colours that do not date. A six dollar crewneck is not a garment you plan around. It is the one you reach for without thinking, and it is fine at that job for a season or two.

The word in the name does most of the work. Oversized and loose fit pieces are drafted with room already in them, so ordering up gets you something shapeless. Ribbed and fitted styles are cut close and will show a bra line. Tunic length tops run long enough to wear over leggings, which is what the listings mean when they say long tshirts for leggings.

The thin ones

The maker says lightweight in its own bullets on most of the summer tees and it means it. In white and the pale colours, assume a second layer is needed. In black and the darker solids the same fabric reads fine on its own.

Necklines

V necks here sit lower than the studio photo suggests because of the way the model stands. The curved hem and boat neck styles are the two that look better on than they do flat in a picture.
